Jean-Paul DuQuette Fond memories of the early '90s. I and two of my best pals were bored so we decided to terrorize a local cafe. I threw on a Hawaiian shirt, tied some bungie cords around my neck, and marched out in front of the place screaming "today is my birthday!" and playing "Collapsed" on my ghetto blaster which I had balanced on my shoulder. The good old days... Favorite track: Collapsed.

Blinky Blinky Computerband / BLINKYPIX NU was a project by Bill Leeb of FLA & Marc Verhaeghen of The Klinik. Hm, is this true? No, because only the first two releases were produced by these giants of EBM music. All later releases were "only" produced by Bill. Is this important? Yes, it is! The first two releases are masterpieces of EBM music with lots of atmospheric elements. With the third album things changed, because the following sounds more an FLA spin-off. Are they bad? No, but the special "feeling" of the first two is gone. Favorite track: Deceit.

Originally released in 1989 on the influential Antler-Subway and Wax Trax! labels, Noise Unit's debut album, Grinding Into Emptiness, finally gets a proper reissue through Toronto-based Artoffact Records.

Featuring the original line-up of Bill Leeb (Front Line Assembly) and Marc Verhaeghen (Klinik), the first Noise Unit is a minimal industrial-EBM hybrid, perhaps best described as a pared-down Front Line Assembly. And yet it has a style and voice all its own, as Belgian cold electronics meet the signature Canadian, Vancouver industrial sound of the mid-80s. From the opening shouts of the original single Deceit, to the cold, low-tech of Dry Lungs or the familiar samples of Ritualistic, up until the incredible ambient closer, The End, Grinding Into Emptiness is magnificent.

The Artoffact Records reissue comes on two slabs of vinyl, one 12" and one 7", and is housed in a faithful reproduction of the original sleeve. The artist and title lettering has been redone in gold-foil, giving the final product an elegance it truly deserves. All audio is remastered and fully authorized.

I DJ'd back in 1991-1995 in an alternative club in Melbourne, Florida 🌞🌴and this always packed the dance floor on our Monday night goth/industrial night, which I was the host, because 2 other clubs catering to the style shut down. and it's sad Melbourne, Florida scene is dead these days.
